Ten years ago today I gave birth to this beautiful young man. He arrived punctually on his due date, bright, awake, and simply taking it all in. My heart almost bursts when I think of the last ten years he has been a part of my life. He has taught me more about myself than anything, anyone, or any other journey ever could. He pulls my heartstrings and pushes my buttons. He’s loving and kind and generous. He’s full of empathy and compassion and a quiet spirit. He’s got his daddy’s eyes and smile and cute tushie and his mama’s love of reading and need for quiet moments. His laugh is joyful and his tears heartbreaking. He is all I ever wanted in a child. He made my heart whole and full in a way I never knew existed. Happy Birthday beautiful boy. Thank you for choosing me to be your mama.
